On October 9, 1955, the body of 34-year-old Adam Payne was found lying on the roadway of KY 428 (Guston Rd), 7/10th of a mile west of Guston in Meade County, Kentucky. He was initially reported as being struck by a vehicle. The responding trooper found that this did not lead to his death as the victim died from gunshot wounds and was struck after death. He had been shot and killed in another location and then his body had been dumped.
