On April 1, 1925, the body of a man was found in the Milwaukee, River in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's believed he accidentally drowned. 

John Doe was a white male around 40 years old.

 On March 28, 1925, the body of a man was found at Lake Michigan, foot of Park Place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It's believed he accidentally drowned.

John Doe was a white male around 45 years old.

UNIDENTIFIED: October 24, 1958, Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin John Doe

On October 24, 1958, teenagers would find the cranium of a man resting on the ground while hunting near Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. It was noted to be sitting in an area of dirt devoid of plant growth and leaves, although the surrounding area had thick ground cover of grass, foliage, and leaf litter.

John Doe was believed to be 23 to 57 years old.

Murder of Marshal William E. Gibbson

In 1882 Irish-born man 51/52 year-old Willam E. Gibson was a town Marshal for Horicon, Wisconsin. On October 19, 1882, he arrested a stranger for disorderly conduct. The man since he arrived spent most of his time drinking at the saloon and was drunk when arrested. The man was only in town for a couple of days and was believed to be a tramp.  William being a little careless and thinking the man only had one weapon did not check the other pocket.  

The man did not resist or fight to go to jail. When William let go of the man to unlock the door to the cell the man would pull a bulldog a 40-caliber revolver from his left pocket and shoot the him. He would flee from his crime.

It had taken around an hour before anyone knew that William had been shot. At the same time, there was a major fire at the Brunt & Davis Co. factory. The village's attention was focused on the fire which allowed the unknown man to flee the area.

The man had been in town for a day or two there were no clear descriptions of him. Even though there was a wide search for him he wasn't found. He had likely stolen a horse from the stables of Fred Puls about two miles east outside of Horicon and fled. If he was he would have been a victim of a lynching. It was believed that he may have been wanted for a bigger crime than public drunkness and that was why he shot Marshal Gibson.

The killer was never caught for this murder.

UNIDENTIFIED: March of 1885 Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Baby Jane Doe

 In March of 1885  Milwaukee County, Wisconsin a baby was found dead. It is believed that the infant was a stillbirth.

  On December 5, 1933, an unknown baby boy was buried at the East Meadows Cemetery in Racine, Wisconsin. There is little information in this case.

UNIDENTIFIED: Vilas County, Wisconsin Doe

 A partially damaged skull of a teenager was found in the archives and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The only identifying label was Vilas County SP 10278 and it's believed that the skull was given to the university around the mid-20th century. 

The skull is of unknown gender and race but is believed to belong to someone between 12 to 15-years-old.

August 5, 1898 Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Jane Doe

 On August 5, 1898, a woman was found washed up on the shore of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. She had a hitching weight such as what a drayman would use to fasten a horse's brittle. It was placed together with the body with a light chain wrapped around the body twice and fastened by prying a link open. She was partial as she was wearing a top and her underclothing it's not stated whether or not the water may have caused it to come off. She was dead for around a month. Her cause of death was undetermined, but it was believed that she was hit over the head and placed in the water alive where she drowned.

Jane Doe was around 30-years-old. She was 5'4" and around 140 lbs. She had Dark Chestnut colored hair that was dyed. The hair at the back of her neck showed light brown hair sprinkled with grey. The underclothing was of good quality and made of handmade lace. She was wearing shoes and on the leather with Harding & Todd which was a shoe manufacturing company in Rochester, New York.

 In 1892 the body of a baby girl was found in a canal in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. They were buried in Opitz Cemetary in Mequon and it was paid by T. of Mequon on Mach 29, 1892.

UNIDENTIFIED: November 14, 1869 Door County, Wisconsin John Doe

 On November 14, 1869, the body of a young man was found at the Southwest point of Washington Island, Wisconsin. He could not be identified and it was believed he was in the water for some time. It's possible that he was a sailor

John Doe's race is unstated, but he was a male around 17 to 18-years-old. He was around 5 ft and had black hair.

UNIDENTIFIED: September 14, 1947 Cassian, Wisconsin Jane Doe

 On September 14, 1947, a woman's body was found in a shallow grave in a rural area near an old grass-covered roadway in Cassian, Wisconsin. It was around 3.5 miles north of the intersection of USH 51 and USH 8. The victim was strangled to death and was found lying face down. It's not stated how long they believed she was dead.

Jane Doe was an adult female. She was 5'2" and 170lbs. She had brown greying hair. 2 distinct lines running from the forehead down to the nose, very small feet and ankles, and a broad nose. She was wearing rayon or silk pants, an undershirt and slip, and a large corset. She had a gold-colored ring on her left hand.

Unsolved Murder of Arthur "Buddy" Louis Schumacher

 

On July 24, 1925, around 9 a.m. 8-year-old Arthur "Buddy" Schumacher left his house in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. He had left with some neighborhood boys and was last seen by them after they hopped off a freight train they'd jumped on to get a ride to a nearby swimming hole. 

The boys said that a man on the train accosted and asked them where they were going. This scared the boys and they jumped out, but Buddy did not jump off with them. They then ran He jumped off on the otherside and the man also jumped off. They last saw Buddy at the train tracks with the man. 

A search would be done looking for Buddy. It was initially thought by police that maybe the freight had carried him far away or that he had accidentally drowned at the river where the boys planned to go. With there being no evidence of the boy showing up people began to suspect that he had been abducted. 

Buddy's body would be found 7 weeks later just a mile from his home. It was obvious that the young boy was murdered. His handkerchief was deep down his throat and he was missing some of his clothing. It's likely died the day he went missing and it's unknown what exactly his cause of death was.

There were many leads, but nothing panned out and Buddy's murder remains unsolved.

 On April 28, 1879, the body of a 2-week old infant girl was found in the Milwaukee River in Wisconsin. She was drowned. She was buried in the Milwaukee County Almshouse and Poor Farm Cemetery in Wauwatosa.

UNIDENTIFIED: December 23, 1892 Door County, Wisconsin Norwegian Railroad Worker Unknown

In 1892 a Norwegian man was working on the railroad in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. He was diagnosed with Typhoid in December. He would die from typhoid fever on December 23, 1892. His funeral was paid for by the city, but his name was unknown. His age is unstated but can be assumed to be an adult.

MISSING: Max Edward Metcalf

 

On October 7, 1958, 33-year-old Max Metcalf was last seen at the home he shared with his wife and children in Princeton, Wisconsin. He told his wife that he was going to a local tavern that was a 1/2 mile from their home. He would drive off in his Dodge 330 series pickup. He would never return home. His truck would be found 35 miles away in Oshkosh, Wisconsin around 11pm to 12 am. 

The pickup was parked behind a storage facility on South Main Street. It was not seen as suspicious for a week until police heard of his disappearance. The truck's parking brake was on and his wife thought that was suspicious as he wouldn't use the parking brake as it was broken. The truck was parked in a way that it seemed like someone was in a hurry. 

Max is a white male and was 33-years-old at the time. He was 5'5" to 6'3" and 190 to 220 lbs. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He left wearing his blue Air Force shirt, Wrangler jeans, and maroon canvas shoes.

 On August 28, 1876, the body of an infant was found on Muskego Ave in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. She was a white female around 5 to 6 months old. It's not stated what her cause of death was or how long she had been dead. She was buried in the Milwaukee County Almshouse and Poor Farm Cemetery in Wauwatosa.

MISSING: Conradina Olson

 

Carl and Conradina Olson

In 1910 38-year-old Conradina Olson left Brookfield, Wisconsin to go to a doctor's appointment. She said goodbye to her husband and four children at the train station before she left.

She may have run away from her husband. It was said he was verbally abusive and at this time she couldn't divorce him. A psychic contacted a family member telling them that Conradina was killed near the train station or tracks. They believe that Carl had something to do with her disappearance as he was also gone for a period of time around the time she disappeared.

For a period of time it was thought possible the Jane Doe found in Ellis, Missouri could have been her through later investigation and the same psychic saying Ellis had something to do with it. The woman found in Ellis though was found in 1877 and couldn't have been Conradina.

Ultimately her fate is unknown and her case may never be solved.

MISSING: Helen Stark

On or about Jan. 12, 1946, 23 to 26-year-old Helen Stark was last seen in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At the time Helen was having marital issues with her husband William P. Stark. She was supposed to come and pick up her young children but never arrived. 

The date of her disappearance is the same day as William's discharge from the Army. He had enlisted in March of 1943.

Helen's family doesn't believe that she abandoned her children as her own mother died when she was a teenager. This lead to her and her siblings going to an orphanage. 

Helen is a white female between 23 and 26 years-old and her maiden name was Brokowski. She was 5'8" to 6'0" and 170 to 180 lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes and may be wearing glasses.
