At one point Harriet Baker and George Jones lived together but were separated by 27 July 1877. On the night of July 27th, Harriet went to George's home in Burslem, England. A neighbor had also been dining with the two. Two were having an argument about a letter. During the absent neighbor, George claimed Harriet had struck him and response he had stabbed her with a knife.
He was charged with manslaughter and life in prison.
