A few days before September 18, 1852, a 74-year-old farmer named Tipple didn't like another farmer named Cook. Cook resided near Ancaster in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Tipple met Cook near Cook's farm where they had a short argument. Tipple then shot Cook through his heart causing instant death.
Both were veterans. Cook was a soldier of 73rd Regiment and Tipple served on board a man-of-war. I could not find any other articles on this case.
